 BLEAKER STREET COWBOYS

Like jumping into a sonic time machine, when the likes of Sun Records ruled the airwaves. No auto-tune here.

(featuring Andy Bopp of Myracle Brah and Joey Salvia of the Montgomery Cliffs)

I have TWO songs for you below.  One is from the Bleaker Street Cowboys’ new album and the other is an  unreleased cover of “Please Please Me” that is most certainly the coolest cover of this song you’ve heard.

Sounds Like: Sun Records, The Beatles, Rockpile, Travling Wilbury’s, Hank Williams 3

Like jumping into a sonic time machine, when the likes of Sun Records ruled the airwaves. No auto-tune here… only pure energetic authenticity. Just listen!

Bleaker Street Cowboys  are Rock & Roll veterans. Andy Bopp was signed to Interscope Records with his band, Lovenut and fronted Myracle Brah for over 10 years releasing a long string of excellent albums on Not Lame Recordings and Rainbow Quartz.  Joey Salvia was with 115 Records as frontman/bassist for The Montgomery Cliffs. He’s also a frequent house band member on The Mike Huckabee Show. Chad Hopkins, a gifted vocalist, had success with a publisher (The Dephi Label) in LA. Aside from being seasoned performers and prolific song writers, we also have nationwide commercals for Buick and Speedco. Each of our members have a deep passion and reverence for traditional country music, and rely on a simple, stripped down approach to our presentation both on stage and in the recording studio.

In fact, unlike many of todays artists who use modern technology to support their sound, Bleaker Street Cowboys do it the old fashioned way. We use actual reel to reel analog tape. That means we have to capture each performance without studio trickery, and with a painstaking approach to being 100% authentic. This process also guarantees a ‘live” performance that is as close to being like the record ( or mp3 if you will) as a band can get these days.

3 song writers…. singing together…. playing real instruments…. & one cool cat of a drummer. No bells. No whistles. New Songs for the Old Country Soul…. as real as it gets. Just listen!

“‎”Bumpy Ridin'”, the smokin’ hot debut single from the Bleaker Street Cowboys, sounds as if it were cut at Sun Records in Memphis around 1956 and produced by Sam Phillips. No wonder. Brooklyn-born lead singer Joey Salvia and fellow Cowboys Andy Bopp and Chad Hopkins shot for a rich, natural sound, the likes of which could only be achieved by using analog equipment, including an old reel-to-reel …tape machine. “This initial offering by the Bleaker Street Cowboys would make Mr. Phillips smile.” ”

“ Awesome new song by Bleaker Street Cowboys. The band features Joey Salvia, a member of “The Little Rockers” (The house band on Fox News’ Huckabee). I love the retro sounding reverb and it has a great twang to it.”
