Wanted to take it on a long drive so badly that I went to Amazon and bought the Michael Carpenter track since it didn’t work. Can’t wait to hear it all together.
Thanks for the comp. Please fix track 11.
The Michael Carpenter track worked fine for me.
I fixed it the other day, so it’s all good now…..
Listened to this today while at work. Rain is the best cover of a Beatles song i’ve heard. Also Not The Tremblin’ kind is fantastic. What album is it from?
Very nice collection. I was curious, as this has been a discussion among other Pop friends and artists on a Facebook thread, did all the artists on this compilation give their permission for this collection? Is it considered promotional? Just wondering because I’ve seen comps like this all over the net the past seven or eight years.
Note to M. McCartney…George Usher’s track is from 1996’s MIRACLE SCHOOL album on Lonesome Whippoorwill, a Swedish Label. And without looking through all of my HIT THE HAY compilations, it may also be on one of those.
Note to Bruce & Eric..nice comp (although I HATE mp3!!). I have most of the songs on cd or vinyl..love the jangle. Much easier to download this way (never could unzip any of your October comp; it came in too many different kinds of files).
Another note about G. Usher’s MIRACLE SCHOOL album. The song on your comp is fantastic, but the song “Baby Laughed When Heaven Fell” from this album is worth the full price of the disc, a gorgeous Beatley track that would fit right in on a Frank Lee Sprague or early Songetones album (except w/Usher’s more nasally Jimmy Silva-type vocals).
The Byrds the word…… half the tunes are The Byrds reincarnated…. which is a good thing. Great comp! You even managed to find a Michael Carpenter track I didn’t have already.
Awesome jangly compilation, thanks to share it.
Love it!
Man, there are some jangly beauties here. Great stuff.
Impecable, como siempre. Gracias Bruce.
WOW! I might be a little late to the site, but heaven knows I love the jangle, and this is it. This is what I’ve been looking for.Thanks.
Make sure you check out the JANGLE podcast in the podcast area…Ii’ve only done one of them so far but going to do another one, a follow up, here soon….
GREAT comp!! I strongly recommend ANYTHING by GAT, Horst-Peter Schmidt and their band Starbyrd.
