A BRIEF HISTORY OF JAZZ ROCK

by Mike Baron

Jazz Rock by Mike BaronFILE UNDER:  Not Power Pop But Wicked Cool

We’re all fans of many different types, styles and genres/sub-genres of music far beyond power pop.  We are pantheists – worshippers of all.

Our own Mike Baron(from the Bloody Red Baron column on this site) is an incredibly prodigious fiction writer, publishing 2 books a year the last few years(links below).

This week, Baron has released a fascinating exploration into the origins of ‘jazz rock’, a style of rock ‘n roll that many of us over the age of 45 spent our formative years being listening to, enjoying and throughout the 70s, exposed to.

“A Brief History of Jazz Rock” is available on Kindle right now for only $4.99 and I can’t recommend it more highly.  There has been no book written yet that explores this influential and very successful sub-genre of rock – until now.
