With their brand new CD release, The Sun’s Going Down, The Pozers
return to the top of the powerpop world.  The Sun’s Going Down  is the
much anticipated follow-up to highly successful and critically
acclaimed predecessor, Embrace Your Addiction.    This 13 song CD
illustrates why The Pozers are still considered, by many, to be one of
the most original, creative, and intelligent bands in music today.
The Pozers continue to display their trademark formula of power
pop/rock: featuring gifted songwriters, lyrical depth, melodic hooks,
rich vocal harmonies, and punchy guitars–while showcasing a flair for
diverse styles and eclectic rhythms and instrumentation.

Produced by Roger Manning, mixed by Brian Wilson, and mastered by Greg
Pocari, The Sun’s Going Down pushes the gamut from the lush Sgt.
Pepper  meets Pet Sounds  chorale brilliance, to bluesy-piano and
Cheap Trick styled power pop.  We encourage you to pop this CD in your
car player and listen to it for a few days to digest the subtle
nuances.  Don’t just give it the “once through” listen.

The Pozers have created a unique, defining sound–challenging the
mediocrity of modern rock radio pushing the gamut from the lush Sgt.
Pepper meets Pet Sounds choral brilliance, to bluesy-piano and Cheap
Trick styled guitar power pop.  Their lyrics are intelligent, clever,
and thought-provoking while their melodies are catchy and instantly
memorable.    Tremendous songwriters and music creators, The Pozers
all sing and write songs, thus making them more like separate solo
artists in one band.  This attribute comes across in their high energy
entertaining stage show.

Since their formation in 1994, The Pozers have released six CD’s and a
video: The Sun’s Going Down (2012) EMBRACE YOUR ADDICTION  (2005), YOU
JUST DON’T GET IT DO YOU  (2002), COVER THIS  (1998), The Pozers–In
Search of Kenny Swann–the Movie?  (1998–long form video), WE’RE THE
POZERS AND SO ARE YOU  (1996), and THE POZERS  (1994–7 song EP).  The
Pozers have appeared in numerous magazines and their music has been
featured on radio stations all over the world.   Jim Richey has a
Doctorate degree and a Masters in English Literature and is a
published author/poet. Hamm spent his college years studying art and
music production and Moreno has a computer programming background.
With these varied (yet prestigious) individual backgrounds, it is easy
to see why The Pozers have long since been touted as “the thinking
man’s band” by most critics.

The CD has already garnered some high praise in the power pop world.
The Sun’s Going Down CD made David Bash’s Favorite Albums of 2012
list. The Pozers provided a sneak peek of what to come on this CD when
their song “My Maze” a track from The Sun’s Going Down was featured
pre release on International Pop Overthrow: Vol. 15 CD.
Powerpopaholic said,  “The Pozers ‘My Maze’ add a Beatles-ELO
influenced gem. Overall, you’ll be coming back for repeat listens on
this compilation… I guarantee it!”

When Powerpopaholic later reviewed The Sun’s Going Down entire CD,
they had this to say:

“The Pozers ‘The Sun’s Going Down’ is fresh fun. “Spacecar” is fast
paced fuzz guitar fest that sounds like a mix of Vinyl Candy and The
Banana Splits. “All She Wrote” has a great beat and some nice
Beatlesque slide guitar with its bouncy melody. The lush production on
“My Maze” and “The Fascination” are similar to ELO in composition and
they’re a big highlight.”

Absolute Powerpop had this to day about The Sun’s Going Down:  “The
Pozers disc Embrace Your Addiction got quite a bit of love in power
pop community back in 2004 and on the basis of their fine
newly-released followup I’m going to have to back and check that one
out. As for The Sun’s Going Down, it’s a tour de force of power pop
styles. The fuzzed-out guitars of “Spacecar” answer the question of
what Guided by Voices would have sounded like in 1968, the loping yet
melodic “All She Wrote” could pass for a lost Nuggets classic, and
“The Separation” expertly evokes Pet Sounds-era Beach Boys. They may
be retro, but when you get retro this right you can’t be wrong, and
that’s no pose.
